Sewing Project: Custom Pouch for Dialysis (CCPD/CAPD) Patients

Day 1
Last week was training week for Ah ma, Niely, Da Gou (my Aunt) and I at SGH. My grandma has kidney failure and after 3 years of dialysis and its different complications, we finally get to surgically change the dialysis method to CAPD as known as Water Dialysis to most people. Eventhough I didn't manage to go for all 5 days of training, it was enjoyable while it lasted. Other patients and their familes were also there to learn. I had so much fun and laughter even when the nurse was nagging alot. :) hehe.

Day 1 - Waiting for training to begin
Day 3 - Time for Lunch!
The tube from the body which connects the Ultra Bags is usually stored/kept with tape and cotton pads. There is also another way of keeping the tubes, which is in custom made waist pouches as shown below.
Top: The Nurse's sample
Bottom: My piece for Ah Ma.
After making one for my grandma, I had orders coming in from the other patients that where there. It was quite an experience doing the pouch for them. I have a sense of satisfaction, like I've done something good. :)

Midnight sewing :)
Orders from patients I met at the training center.
Some like their velcro at the front as seen on the top most pouch

To insert tubings and hold Transfer Set
Velcro for maximum comfort even throughout the night
Below is an image of how the tubings look like.

I am just really happy that I am involve in this whole process of dialysis for my Ah Ma. I always wonder how else can I show my love and affection to her especially since I am a very socially awkward person, expressing my love and care is generally very awkward and difficult for me. Yay me, now I am responsible when Niely isn't around :) I am not complaining. Anything for Grams <3

If you need a pouch, contact me for more details! :)

Quick Update!

Its been a month since Miko is gone, and yes things are different at home now.. the sounds are different, the habits are changing and even the smell is different. There are too many things going on this past few months.
Weddings, Sales, Coaching etc.. Nothing special, just plain busy! Next week I will be on course for 2 months, hopefully I won't be missing out on anything during this busy period.

Honestly, year No.22nd of my life is like my worst year ever. People around me are settling down for a normal (with a boss) job, and here I am risking it all to seek for freedom while being judged and criticised by people of all age range. At the same time trying to feed myself as I continue to go on course for my future path and of course being questioned about it from people who don't even know what is going on in my life. I don't expect anyone to understand because this is a road less walked on, but this also shows how much people believe in me -- or not.

"Those that matter, won't mind. Those that mind, don't matter."

So not forgetting my crafts! I have created some new Ring Pillows and Bowties which I am extremely excited about! BECAUSE THEY LOOK AMAZING (to me!). If you'd like to find out more about it you can always drop a comment or visit http://blessingapparel.blogspot.sg

Good news is that I will be going BKK next friday! Woohoo! its been a long long time since I went for a real shopping trip.. Not even to Orchard road. Booo~

Till then...
