Sewing Project: Custom Pouch for Dialysis (CCPD/CAPD) Patients

Day 1
Last week was training week for Ah ma, Niely, Da Gou (my Aunt) and I at SGH. My grandma has kidney failure and after 3 years of dialysis and its different complications, we finally get to surgically change the dialysis method to CAPD as known as Water Dialysis to most people. Eventhough I didn't manage to go for all 5 days of training, it was enjoyable while it lasted. Other patients and their familes were also there to learn. I had so much fun and laughter even when the nurse was nagging alot. :) hehe.

Day 1 - Waiting for training to begin
Day 3 - Time for Lunch!
The tube from the body which connects the Ultra Bags is usually stored/kept with tape and cotton pads. There is also another way of keeping the tubes, which is in custom made waist pouches as shown below.
Top: The Nurse's sample
Bottom: My piece for Ah Ma.
After making one for my grandma, I had orders coming in from the other patients that where there. It was quite an experience doing the pouch for them. I have a sense of satisfaction, like I've done something good. :)

Midnight sewing :)
Orders from patients I met at the training center.
Some like their velcro at the front as seen on the top most pouch

To insert tubings and hold Transfer Set
Velcro for maximum comfort even throughout the night
Below is an image of how the tubings look like.

I am just really happy that I am involve in this whole process of dialysis for my Ah Ma. I always wonder how else can I show my love and affection to her especially since I am a very socially awkward person, expressing my love and care is generally very awkward and difficult for me. Yay me, now I am responsible when Niely isn't around :) I am not complaining. Anything for Grams <3

If you need a pouch, contact me for more details! :)

Quick Update!

Its been a month since Miko is gone, and yes things are different at home now.. the sounds are different, the habits are changing and even the smell is different. There are too many things going on this past few months.
Weddings, Sales, Coaching etc.. Nothing special, just plain busy! Next week I will be on course for 2 months, hopefully I won't be missing out on anything during this busy period.

Honestly, year No.22nd of my life is like my worst year ever. People around me are settling down for a normal (with a boss) job, and here I am risking it all to seek for freedom while being judged and criticised by people of all age range. At the same time trying to feed myself as I continue to go on course for my future path and of course being questioned about it from people who don't even know what is going on in my life. I don't expect anyone to understand because this is a road less walked on, but this also shows how much people believe in me -- or not.

"Those that matter, won't mind. Those that mind, don't matter."

So not forgetting my crafts! I have created some new Ring Pillows and Bowties which I am extremely excited about! BECAUSE THEY LOOK AMAZING (to me!). If you'd like to find out more about it you can always drop a comment or visit http://blessingapparel.blogspot.sg

Good news is that I will be going BKK next friday! Woohoo! its been a long long time since I went for a real shopping trip.. Not even to Orchard road. Booo~

Till then...

Character or Reputation

I have recently stumbled upon this banner on my cousin's Facebook wall, which really hits me in the head on how come I am so expressive most of the time, I couldn't care less about what others think of me. Of course there are times that those expressions are merely anger. But there are also many times it is because I believe in what I am saying and what is right.

What disturbs me is that people think the majority is always right, our parents are always right, "they have been doing it for so long" so it must be right, we are following our leaders, they can't be wrong. Our generations are filled with people who care more about what others think of them then who they really are or can be.

Why can't people have their own mind set? Even if they do have, why are implimenting changes so difficult? why do that one person gets condemned when he/she just wants to get things right.

I am sad to say, our generation is more about reputation than character.
Which explains underground activities in companies.
Low quality production for monetary reasons.
Low sense of compassion in a place which preaches compassion
People who can sleep soundly at night knowing they have caused someone's life and a chance to be happy again.

Which side are you on?
Character or reputation?
Love or the easy way out?
who you are or who they want you to be?

No one has any right to tell you how to live your life. its yours.

The "God" we think we know.

All ready and pumped up for AWAKEN this June 14th - 17th. I am still amazed how God has his ways of just coming to us. Whether is it now or much later, or even at some of our death beds maybe. I still don't understand and I don't think I will ever because it will be too much for be to handle. His love is just.. is just.

You know I get criticisms about me being too enthusiatic about serving God, relating every single thing that happened in my everyday life and hold God responsible to it? I only get those when I hold God responsible for the smallest most beautiful things like for example "how my Dog came to me and be by my side when I was feeling down, Thank you Lord for sending a friend." I don't see anything wrong with that.

I am simply thanking God for the smallest things, everything.

You may say.. but God didn't make all that happen? How would you know? Did you see it? Hold it... does it matter? What matters is that you believe it.. and if you don't then respect it. I don't remember forcing anyone to be in together with me as since I decided to serve God with my soul for the last 5 years. Because I respect.

Strange, how people refuse to hold God responsible for the smallest most beautiful things, but the worst. Yea, I am not saying he is not responsible. He is. So? HE BETTER BE. he created us and this and everything around you.. I think he has the right to piece his own puzzle for whatever reason he has.

I get angry too.. I am no different from you.
But we don't belong here & this doesn't belong to us. It belongs to him.

Fact is. He has changed me and you know it.

John finally got his Hair-cut

What a windy Sunday!

Today, John Tan finally got his HAIR CUT!! yes yes! the long awaited hair cut after 6 months of Lennon-like days. Here are some mixed feelings about his long hair.
  • My Family can't wait for him to chop off his hair.
  • It got him quite noticed in school.
  • I LOVE IT! #youdontsay

While waiting for him to finish his hair cut, I treat myself to KOI's Black Tea Macchiato! I am a sucker for original Milk Tea but I decided to give this a try!

Review : NO REGRETS

Get a Macchiato for a good start on Monday!
